Bobbie was born in Brookston, Indiana, on December 3, 1943, to Lloyd Earl and Mary Roberta Brown. Bobbie was the eldest of four children born to Mary. Bobbie’s family moved often in Indiana, residing at times in Brookston, Lafayette, Battle Ground, and finally in Pine Village, where she graduated from high school in 1962. While in high school, Bobbie met Karl Hellwig, also known as Sonny Mountz, whom she married in June of that same year. Sonny and Bobbie had three daughters together; Karla Jo Hellwig Crump (Terry), Jennifer Lee Hellwig Rosier, and Lorelei Ann Hellwig, all whom survive her. Bobbie and Sonny divorced in 1976. Later in her life, Bobbie had two other marriages to Carlos Flowers, deceased, and lastly to Kenneth Christman, from whom she was divorced in 2016. Bobbie lived most of her life in Warren County. She worked at Purdue University Printing Services for 28 years and retired from there. The last eight years of her life, Bobbie lived in Lafayette, Indiana, where she could be closer to her daughters.
Bobbie will be lovingly missed by her daughters; surviving siblings Mike McClure (Missy) and Richard Brown (Patricia); grandchildren Sylvia Crump, Esquire, and Dr. Everette Crump (Anna Marie); as well as many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
Bobbie had a passion for reading, cruise travel, and spending time with her family and friends. She was also famously known for her love of ice cream. In accordance with her final wishes, the family will be hosting an ice cream social as a memorial service. Specific details regarding the event will be added to the online guest book.
