Tom Delor, age 83, went to be with his Lord on Friday, June 12, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rosie Delor; children Tracy (Tom) Waldherr, Jana (Pat) McClelland, Kelly (Brian) Selk, Tom (Amber) Delor, David (Darcie) Oudbier, Lisa (Ray) Chapin; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Joy (Gary) Schmitz; brother, David (Linda) Delor; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tom loved God, his family and visiting Costco. He worked for Consumers Energy for 39 years and retired in 2002. During retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, taking vacations, and spending time with family and friends. He gave the best golf cart rides to the grandchildren and always had a snack on hand--especially fruit snacks he would hand out while riding his golf cart.
Tom was a social butterfly who would eagerly speak to strangers--he truly was a "people person." He was a good husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He is loved and will be deeply missed.
Tom's family would like to say a special thanks to the caretakers and staff at Grandbrook Memory Care for the care they gave to Tom and his family for the past year and a half. The family would also like to thank the nurses and chaplain at Optimal Care Hospice for their kindness and care during this time.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2026, with visitation one hour prior starting at 9:30 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Msgr. William Duncan will be officiating. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Tom, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresbyron.com in their guestbook online.
