Walter S. Carlson

Walter S. “Bud” Carlson, age 83 of Autumn Hills, DeMotte, IN. formerly of Calumet City and Blue Island, Illinois, went to the Lord October 23, 2014. He retired from Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad after 40 years of service. He attended Our Lady of Knock Catholic Church in Calumet City and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and a former member of VFW Post 8141 in Calumet City, Illinois. Survivors include daughters: Sherrill (Jack) Lehman of Beecher, IL and Sandra of Steger, IL., son James (Marjean) of Lowell, IN., a sister, Johanne Kernihan of Las Vegas, NV, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and step children, Mark (Diana) LaFlech and Joan Bradford. He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Mary Carlson, parents, Walter and Dorothea Carlson, brother, Thomas Carlson and brother-in-law, James Kernihan.
