Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Country Manor on Wednesday January 1, 2014 in her 90th year. Beloved mother of Joe Santos (Conceicao), Manuel Santos (Celeste), Octavio Santos (Leslie), Armenia Braga (Americo), Agda Santos., and her son-in-law Steven Laflamme, her brothers Tony Sousa (Celeste) , Ernesto Sousa (Liduina) , and her sister Filonena Cabral (Jose), and 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Manuel and Virginia Sousa, her husband Jose Santos, and her daughter Eduarda. Adelaide was born in Santa Maria Azores on January 28, 1924 and has lived in Cambridge since 1974. The family will receive friends at Coutts Funeral Home 96 St. Andrews St. Cambridge on Friday January 3, 2014 from 2-4 and 7- 9 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory’s R. C. Church 10 St. Gregory’s Drive Cambridge on Saturday January 4, 2014 at 11 A. M. Interment Parklawn Cemetery. Parish prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Friday evening at 8 P. M. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.
