Passed away peacefully at Stirling Heights LTC, on Sunday , November 7th surrounded by daughter Barbara, Juris and staff. Annie was born , August 4, 1922 in Brandon Village, England to Henry & Lottie (Bailes) Colwell, (Deceased). Also predeceased by siblings Lizzie (Jimmy) Rogers, Elsie (Harry) Willetts, Mary and Harry in infancy. Also predeceased by husband Thomas Frederick Barley Jr. (1973) and by Son Philip Thomas (1982). Survived by daughter Barbara Ann and Son – In- Law Juris Michelsons, and Special Nana to Sarah Elizabeth, Steven Philip and Susan Emily. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins residing in England. Annie was in the Royal Air Force where she met Tommy who was in the Canadian Air Force during WW11. They were married in 1948 and then immigrated to Canada in 1950 where they resided in Doon and then moved to Galt. A big THANK YOU to all staff at Stirling Heights for your Love, Caring, and Compassion, as well as the Family atmosphere while Mom has resided there for the past 3 years. Also must say that the service of “An Act of Goodbye” along with the Dove pin was beautiful from the staff of Cabral Home area. She blossomed under your kindness and all the friends that she made there too. There will be no funeral home visitation, but private graveside proceedings. There will be a memorial service on Saturday November 13, 2010 at 11 A. M. . at Stirling Heights LTC, 200 Stirling MacGregor Drive, Cambridge. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society or to Stirling Heights LTC for the memorial fund. Arrangements entrusted to Coutts Funeral Home 96 St. Andrews St. Cambridge.
