Antonio Do Couto Silva
June 5, 1934 – January 20, 2023

With heavy hearts we announce Antonio’s passing on Friday, January 20, 2023 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 88.
He is together once again with his daughters Olinda Da Silva (1979) and Isabel Bastos (2017). Beloved husband to Ludovina Sousa of 18 wonderful years together. Loving father to Antonio Manuel Da Silva, Fernando Da Silva and Pedro Da Silva all of Portugal, Maria Jose Lima of London and Grinoalda Da Silva of Montreal and dear step-father to Valdomira (Joe) Sousa, John (Eduarda) Sousa, Linda Melo (Joe Pereira), Grace (Manuel ) Da Costa, Paula (Herculano) Amaral and Lucille Medeiros. Proud Avô to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Antonio will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his extended family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 25th, 2023 from 6-9 (Rosary at 8:00) p.m. at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650). A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 26th, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 185 Elgin St. S. Cambridge. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made in Antonio’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
A special thank you to Victorian Order of Nurses of Hamilton, especially to Jenny Voisin for your care and compassion. A special thank you as well to Valdomira and Joe Sousa for all of your help in caring for Antonio and ensuring that he could remain at home.
