April Ann Black

Predeceased by her loving husband of 36 years Bob (Robert) George Black. Survived by her brother Gregory (Dina) Wells, her sister Heather (Ron) Sutherland, her nieces Gwen, Krysta (Kaz), her nephews Jason, Ryan, her great-niece Hazel and great-nephews Brady, Calvin, Tyler and Wesley. She will forever remain in the hearts of her extended family and friends.

April lived a life full of joy, adventure, and deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. An avid gardener, she found peace and fulfillment among her flowers and plants, delighting the birds and chipmunks that visited her yard daily. Her love for nature was matched only by her passion for skiing and golfing, which brought her great happiness throughout her life. In her younger years, she also enjoyed bowling and cherished the friendships she made along the way.

Originally from Montreal, Quebec, April built a fulfilling career at the Canadian Textile Institute and later at the Montreal Gazette. In the late 1990’s, she and her husband moved to Cambridge, Ontario, where they established a home with love and laughter. Together, they shared a lifetime of travel, exploring the world and creating cherished memories along the way.

April will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those who were lucky enough to know her. Her kindness and, adventurous spirit, and love for nature will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St Andrews Street, Cambridge on Friday, March 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. A reception will follow in the lounge. Cremation will take place at a later date.
