It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bonnie Jacqueline Marion on October 4, 2019 at the age of 73. After struggling with illness over the last few years Bonnie passed peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Born July 17, 1946 in Galt, Ontario, Bonnie remained a proud resident for her whole life. She is predeceased by her father Edmond Marion and mother Helen Marion (nee Brunton). She is survived by her Aunt Bernice Brunton and Uncle Cuthbert Lewis, cousins Sam Brunton-Lewis (Laura), Megan Brunton-Lewis, Victoria Lywood and Ed Heather. She will be remembered fondly by her friends Sue and Roberta Dedman and Janet Swainston.
Bonnie was a dedicated Catholic and found solace in her faith throughout her life. She worked at Gore Mutual Insurance until her retirement. Bonnie was a longtime member and supporter of both the Canadian and US SPCA and the Canadian Wildlife fund due to her love of animals. She was a loyal and dedicated friend, generous to a fault, sincere and kind at all times. She never forgot a birthday and she was the best gift giver this side of the North Pole. Bonnie’s approachable and kind nature attracted eclectic and sometimes downright weird strangers which provided the myriad of funny stories and experiences she’d tell you about every time she saw you. She’d often laughingly finish the story with “Why do these things always happen to me?”.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for all the care and kindness they provided to Bonnie over the years and especially the last few months.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Friday, October 11th, 2019 at St. Ambrose Church on 210 South St, Cambridge, ON N1R 2P4 with refreshments to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the SPCA, Canadian Wildlife fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
