the family announces the passing of Carl Becker on May 27, 2024 at the age of 54. Many have been touched by Carl over his short and sweet lifetime, leaving behind a legacy that demonstrates how just one person can positively affect the world around them. Those who knew him were fortunate to experience Carl’s magnetism and boundless capacity to love, which are only a few of the infinite ways in which Carl was so very special. Carl is remembered as a beautiful son to his mother Joanne (Arand) Becker and is predeceased by his father Carl Becker Sr. A devoted and loving dad to Samantha Becker (Mackenzie), loyal Bruddah to Kimberly Becker, sentinel uncle to Brooklin Becker (Oliver), adored Poppa to his little Ellie (Ellen) Becker and cherished godfather to Joseph and Christopher Corman. Carl’s warmth and strength is also survived through his dog, Bronson. Carl felt proud of his large family, consisting of many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Some of Carl’s most memorable moments emerge from his passion for sports. His love began at the age of 6, where he quickly excelled as a goalie in the Queensmount house league. Over decades spent on the rink, the floor or the field, he developed an indisputable reputation as a fierce opponent, distinguished teammate and steadfast leader. He was an unforgettable member of each team he associated himself with, from his hockey and Forest Heights football days, to the KW Braves Jr. A, Brampton Excelsiors, Kitchener Kodiaks and the Tri-City Outlaws to name a few. With many accomplishments to show for his years dedicated, there were none that compared to the lifelong friendships he had made along the way.
The second season of his life is reflected fondly in his work with the City of Kitchener. He took immense pride in caring for the community that he called home, fostering each personal connection he made over his tenure of 9 years.
If Carl’s life could be summarized down to only four words, the thought that comes to mind is “love and be loved”. Carl wore his heart on his sleeve, his tenderness radiated profoundly beyond his tough exterior. Anyone who entered his orbit soon recognized his compassion, generosity, graciousness and unwavering loyalty. Friends consider him a beloved confidant, someone who could be relied on unconditionally and who would make each moment spent together meaningful and memorable. Carl’s love knew no bounds and he would take any opportunity to let it show.
To know Carl, was to know his greatest love, the Buffalo Bills. Having been a season ticket holder since 1996, his love for the team remained constant. Never a day passed by where he wasn’t sporting red, white and blue, clearly demonstrating his unwavering loyalty to the team. As we remember Carl and his impact on this earth, we invite all to join us in reflecting on the many memories we shared with him. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at T. Little Funeral Home (223 Main St, Cambridge (519) 623-1290). Visitation will take place from 10am-12pm, with a celebration of life immediately following. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to any of the following organizations are greatly appreciated:
