Surviving husband of Sandra Hankins. Loving father of Stephen and wife Monica Hankins of Cambridge, daughter Laurie of Cambridge. Proud grandfather of Kane and Gabriel Hankins and brother of Catherine Potter of Milton. Companion and best friend of Tamara Kidd in his widower days.
Phil was born in Kitchener on September 21, 1944 and lived in Cambridge all his life. He was loved by many, especially those who shared his passions which included running, exploring the wonder of God's creation during his hikes, studying ancient civilizations and the classic car community. Phil volunteered on many committees including most notably the Cambridge YMCA's annual "Jingle Bell Run". His self-sacrificing fatherhood and zeal for his responsibilities were well known and served as a good example to all. As he died in Christ, Phil now joins his heavenly Father in eternity and we look with a true and living hope to the day of reunification with him.
The family will receive friends and family at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews St. Cambridge on Saturday March 2, 2024 (1pm visitation, 2pm chapel service, 3pm reception).
