Richard, Peter and Chris.  
Your dad was such a special man but no one needs to tell you boys that.  I have known him since I was five years old when you moved to Little's Corners.  Our parents quickly became good friends and neighbors and throughout the years  they shared many good laughs.  When my dad passed away in 1996 and I moved back to the neighborhood your dad was always there to lend a hand and help me with what ever I needed.  I remember us talking about all the things my dad had taught me but that still wasn't enough to look after a house on my own.  I had to learn more.   

There are a couple things that stand out.   I asked your dad to teach me how to put in a new kitchen drain  and he was right there to help.  He said he would do it but I told him I had to learn.  So of course he took me through the steps, told me what I was doing wrong, but I got that drain put in on my own.    The second biggest learning curve was learning how to cut the hedge properly.   I had too many dips in it when I cut it for his liking.  He used to laugh at me and taught me how to hold the hedge trimmers fairly tight to my waste to keep them steady which would  cause the hedge to be cut at the same height.  I think I finally got it but he still preferred to cut it himself.    

I loved him like another father.  He would listen to me talk about sometimes pointless things,  He would give me advice, fix things around my house that were broken, and give me a hug (and he gave great hugs) when I needed one.

I will miss looking out the bathroom window and checking on him.   We had a special code with the blinds after your mom passed away so I knew he was OK.  This will be a hard habit for me to forget.

Uncle Claude was a very special person in my life. I babysat for him and Auntie Rita every Saturday night for years. They would get beautifully  dressed up and go dancing. I thought they were tremendously romantic. When Uncle Claude drive me home we had wonderful conversations. 

Uncle Claude was my godfather and I remember with fondness his hearty laugh and his fantastic dancing ability.  Uncle Claude was always so much fun and he treated me with such kindness. He was the best godfather a young girl could ask for. My sincere sympathy to Richard, Peter and Chris and their families. I was truly blessed by having had Uncle Claude in my life.

Am very sad to learn of Uncle Claude’s passing.  My deepest sympathy to all.
I have so many wonderful memories of our family get togethers and all the fun times we had.
