To never forget.
My youngest brother Arie came back from a stay in Australia. He hadn't said he would come back. He came through the back door and didn't give anybody a hand. He grabbed himself a chair and sat down at the table. He grabbed a stack of bread witch our mum was preparing for everybody and asked her is this for me.
When Arie and I were little boys we were ones on the top of the roof with one leg on either side. Below our oldest sister Annie was eagerly watching and tried to lure us with sweets from the roof.

Lots of strength with the loss

Om nooit te vergeten.
Mijn jongste broer Arie kwam terug van een verblijf in Australie. hij had niet gezegd dat hij terug zou komen, via de achterdeur kwam hij thuis, gaf niemand een hand en pakte zelf een stoel en ging aan tafel zitten. Hij pakte een stapeltje brood wat onze moeder voor iedereen aan het klaarmaken was en vroeg is dit voor mij? Toen Arie en in nog kleine jongens waren zijn we boven op de nok van het dak gekropen met aan weerszijde een been, beneden stond Annie onze oudste zus met spanning te kijken en probeerde ze ons met snoepjes van het dak af te lokken

Art was my Father-in-law. Although I did call him Art early in my marriage, I soon came to call him Dad. For the last ten years he has been my only Dad. I had grown fond of him over the years and I learned to respect him and his ways. He was kind to everyone and always greeted people with a smile. Concern for his family's health and well-being was his first priority. He was always willing to lend a helping hand with my projects and took great interest in my work. I'm going to miss those conversations about car problems, the weather, or friends and acquaintances.
He did an outstanding job caring for Mom during the last three years. He showed so much compassion for her and did everything he could for her.    I know he's in a better place now but I will truly miss him.

He was the most gentle spirited, kind, caring, considerate, giving, helpful, loving, humble, and generous father-in-law. We miss him terribly already, but have many fond memories to remember him by and to pass on his memory to our boys.

Pa was the only grandfather I knew. My Opa died when I was one. Pa would walk me to and from school when I was in grades 2 and 3. I would have breakfast with Pa and Gramma those mornings. Pa was always nice and never yelled at me even when I deserved it. When I was sad, he would cheer me up. I'm really going to miss my Pa!

My grandpa was a really interesting person. He was always interested in how I did in school, and what kind of things I did in school. He loved seeing me do well, as he saw that education was a really important thing in the life of a young man. He would always ask me questions about my life, and he loved taking care of me as a baby. I loved my grandpa, and I will dearly miss him...

Dear Aunt Kay, Susan, Alan and families. So sorry to hear of Uncle Arthur's passing.  Remembering his gentle way, kindness and his hearty laugh.  May your memories of him comfort you.  XO

Pa was a great grandfather and I realy will miss him and I had a lot of good times with him

You, Aai, who as a six-year old boy would stamp your feet on the ground out of anger, because you had to go to school. 
Walked back home and had to be brought back to school by father. 
You are now with our heavenly Father.

Dear (Aunt) Kathy, Susan, Alan, partners and grandchildren,

We want to offer our condolences with the loss of (uncle) Arthur.
It was a real shock to hear about his passing away.
We want to extend our deepest sympathies and we wish you all the strength in coping with the death of your husband, father and grandfather.
We are terribly sorry to hear that Arthur had to suffer much and that the doctors weren't really able to help him. We are therefore grateful that his pain and suffering are over.
We will always carry good memories of him in our hearts.

Aunt Kay, Susan and Alan and family. We feel your loss and share in the memories of a wonderful gentleman, which is how we think of Arthur. Our visits to your home were always filled with laughter, love and great Chinese food! We wish we could be with you on Wednesday unfortunately it is not possible. However we will be up for a visit in August. Till then our prayers are with you at this time of loss.

My grandpa art was a loving grandpa . I Remember how he used to come to my hockey games and boy did he love cheering me on.Another memory was we used to go to see Cambridge hornets at the hockey rink every week and we loved it . Me and my grandpa had a similar love for hockey and I liked that because we could talk about what is happening in the hockey world. Art was my grandpa and I loved him and I will dearly miss him.

Aunt Kay, Susan, Terry and boys, Allan, Shar and boys. You are all in my heart and prayers at this time. My Uncle Art was a wonderful, quiet gentleman. I will always treasure the times I spent at your home when I was posted in Borden he always welcomed me and I especially remember him trying to teach me a few words of Dutch. The only word I remember is cheese - Kaas, but I will forever remember my Uncle Art with love.   My heart goes out to you all at this time. Love Mary Belle., Scott and Jeffrey
