

Born on February 19th 1923 in Toronto and passed away peacefully on Monday October 16th 2023 with family by her side, as well as the caring hands of the staff at Chartwell Queen Square, Cambridge, where she resided and excelled for over 17 years. Predeceased by her husband of 60 years Fred Reain (2005) and her son Michael (October 24, 2022) Sister Irene Franklin of Toronto and brother Alec Eddie of California. Loving mother of Patricia Reain of Owen Sound. Chris (Louise) Reain of Cambridge. Cherished grandmother of Gillian Reain, Kyle (Andrea) Reain, Adam (Jessika) Schottmann, Lindsey (Tony) Ammerlaan, Beloved great-grandmother of Jackson and Cameron Reain, Raiden, Ryker and Peyton
Schottmann, Colby and Ainsley Ammerlaan. She and Fred had a full life, including travels of both Europe, North America, and wintering in Mexico. Dorothy had a 35 year Administrative career with Canadian Brass and Waltec. She was past President of Clyde Scott's Women's Institute and was a member of the Laura Rose Society. She was a driving force in the Heritage Designation of the Scott’s Corners School House circa 1850. A life member of Sheffield United Church; and Addison Consort Singers whom she joined at their inception, and who are now celebrating 40 years together. She was heavily involved in the Residents Committee at Queen’s Square, Cambridge. Dorothy loved all 7 of her great grandchildren and rejoiced at the birth of Ainsley who was born on the day she had her 100th birthday. She will be greatly missed by all the lives that she touched. A huge thank you to all the team at Queen’s Square for providing comfort and care to Dorothy. Memorial Visitation will be held at T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main St., Cambridge, on Wednesday November 15th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A private family memorial service will be held. Cremation has taken place. The family welcomes donations to the charity of your choice, if you wish.
