Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Doris Alva Ridley for 60 years. Loving father of Douglas Richard and wife Barbara of Cambridge, Karin Munn and her husband Keith of Baden. Loving grandfather of Carie Wright, Jeff Munn, Christopher Whitfield and Kathy Whitfield, and his great- grandchildren Jarod Wright, Alea Wright and Paityn Munn. Also survived by his brother James Kenneth and his wife Nora Stouffville and his sister Jean Ashton of Cold Lake, Alberta. Predeceased by his parents George and Myrtle Whitfield, Douglas was born in Galt on January 29, 1929 and was retired from Babcock-Wilcox, a member of the Galt Curling Club and Cambridge Golf Club. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy donations to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation (Cardiac Unit) or Cambridge Memorial Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
