Eric Wallace Phillips

Eric Wallace Phillips, 83, of Ottawa, Ontario, beloved father of his only son Michael G. Phillips (Buckshot) and profoundly loved Grandfather. Eric passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on February 4, 2018.

He was predeceased by his dearly loved wife of 51 years, Jean Maude Phillips (Purdy) who passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 2, 2010. He was also predeceased by his parents Mary J O’Brien and Charles Phillips.

Eric was born in Ottawa where he lived most of his adolescent years. He spent 17 years in the military and served as a lineman post Korean War, where he was trained as an electrician.

Eric worked as an Electrician and loved to tinker around the house. Besides his son Michael, Eric is survived by his six granddaughters, Sunshine, Jodi, Sandi, Michelle, Jamie and Matison and six Great Granddaughters Arianna, Sabrina, Melody, Ariel, Sierra, and Destiny.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many CCAC Caregivers that have cared for him over the past 2 ½ years as well the members of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their dedication and effort to provide quality care over the last several months he was in an out of the hospital. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.

Eric’s family wishes to honour Eric’s wishes to have any and all donations made in his honour to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 126.

A memorial service has not been planned at this time.
