It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gorden Lorne Potentier on May 20th, 2025, at the age of 89, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Gordon passed peacefully at Cambridge Country Manor with his beloved daughter by his side.
Gorden leaves behind his devoted wife of 65 years, Devonne (Bonnie), and his cherished daughter, Lisa. He was a proud grandfather to Melissa, Mandy (Andrew), Clint, Krista (Adam), and Kayla, and a loving great-grandfather to Layla, Rianna, Mariah, Mylah, Farrah, and Leo. He will be forever missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. He is now reunited with his daughter, Donna, who predeceased him in 2012.
Gorden was a man of quiet strength, known for his kindness and his willingness to help anyone in need. He worked for many years at Franklin’s Manufacturing until its closure, and afterward found great joy in caring for and babysitting his grandchildren—moments he treasured deeply.
An avid outdoorsman, Gorden spent countless peaceful hours hunting and fishing, passions that brought him a lifetime of fulfillment. Yet above all, his greatest joy was found in the company of his family and friends, with whom he shared endless love, laughter, and memories.
Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
Gorden’s legacy of love, generosity, and quiet resilience will live on in all who knew and loved him.
