

Guy Guenard passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love in Cambridge on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in his 81st year, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Claude and Helene. He was the beloved husband of Sandie Guenard and the loving father of Jacqueline Brown. He will be deeply missed by his grandson, Xander Brown, and his son-in-law, Noël Brown.
Guy is lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters: Claudette (James) McRae; Rita Guenard (2014); Aline (Gaston) Corriveau; Denis (Debra) Guenard; Louise Jensen (Ray Hachey, 2014); Raoul (Wendy) Guenard; Diane Rumig (Roger Duke); Rose McCue (2002), Richard McCue (2009); Jeannine (Frank) Goreing; Carole (Frank) Formica; George (Ivy) Guenard; and Patrick (Janice) Guenard.
He will also be fondly remembered by the Godin and Cunningham families, and will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the palliative care nurses and all related service providers of the Community Palliative Care Team for their compassion and support.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, followed by a reception at the Centre Communautaire Francophone de Cambridge (the French Club). All are welcome to attend. A live broadcast of the funeral mass will be available beginning at 11:00 a.m. on January 16, 2026, via the Coutts Funeral Home website.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society or the Cambridge Humane Society.
