Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in her 73rd year. Beloved wife of William Mercer. Dear sister to Audrey Freer, Ruth Watson, Joyce Rose, Jean Turner, Vi Hickman, Marlene Fitzgerald and Bernice Jardine. Predeceased by parents James and Iley Fitzgerald, brother Jim Fitzgerald and recently sister Mary Dyet. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Helen was born on June 15, 1940 in North Dumfries Township and has lived in Cambridge all her life. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge at 11am with visitation one hour prior to service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
