

She is the loving mother of Mark (Elita) Amaral and Claudette (Dan) Palermo. Proud Vó to Alessandra and Mateo Amaral and Sierra and Jaida Palermo. Dear sister to Bernardino (Natalia) Reis, Antonio (Hilda) Reis, Henrique (Margarida) Reis, Maria (Stephano) DiPisa, Margarida (Donald) McFarlane and sister-in-law to Maria Reis. Ilda is now reunited with her parents Antonio and Maria Reis and her brother Jose Reis. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends.
Ilda worked for Tiger Brand for more than 30 years. She valued all of the connections and friendships that she made throughout her years there. She loved to crochet and gift her family with her creations, it was one of the many ways that she showed her love. Family truly meant everything for Ilda, she loved her children dearly and being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys. Her fur baby Harley also held a special place in Ilda’s heart.
Friends and family will be received at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650) on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gregory’s Parish, 10 St. Gregory’s Drive, Cambridge. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge. There will be a reception to follow at the Waterloo Regional Police Association, 1128 Rife Road & Cambridge, North Dumfries. Anyone wishing to attend should be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination along with photo ID.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made in Ilda’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Operation Smile or to SickKids.
