Peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on October 25, 2011 surrounded by her family in her 84th year. Survived by her husband, Howard, with whom she celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary only three weeks ago, daughter Janice (Clyde Warrington) of Cambridge, son Greg (Gail Marr) of Hensall, Ontario, and brother Jim Orr (Helen) of Barrie, Ontario. Irene was well known locally as one of the "Woolco ladies" having worked at the store on Main Street in Galt from the day it opened until the day it closed 20 years ago. Family will receive friends at the Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews St. from 7-9 p.m. Friday, October 28. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, October 29 at 11 a.m. with The Reverend Greg Jenkins officiating. Reception to follow at Coutts Cottage. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the CMH oncology staff, which gave exemplary care and support throughout Irene's illness. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
