We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Jack Wood on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, at the age of 93. Jack passed peacefully at his home in Cambridge, a place he took great pride in and often said was where he hoped to spend his final days. Jack was a cherished father, grandfather and friend who will be missed deeply.
Jack is now reunited with his late wife Barbara (2022), with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. Jack leaves behind his cherished sons, David and Mike, and his beloved grandchildren James, Sam, and Katie (Arsenije). Jack was predeceased by his sister, Rita, his sister-in-law, Doreen, and his good friends Raymond and Edith.
Jack lived a full and remarkable life. He proudly served in the British Royal Air Force (RAF) and went on to build a successful career as a Textile Engineer. These accomplishments brought him great pride and provided him with many stories to share with his family and friends. He had a passion for life that shone through in his many interests. He loved to watch soccer games every Saturday and cherished spending time with his grandchildren. Family gatherings often included barbecues and relaxing by the pool, where Jack loved to swim laps in the mornings. He and Barbara were inseparable, sharing a love for exploring tropical destinations. Jack had a fondness for sweet treats like ice cream, a lifelong love of dogs, and an endless fascination with anything that had a motor (especially motorcycles and cars). He will be missed deeply by his family and his community.
Jack’s family would like to invite friends and loved ones to join them in remembering him. A Celebration of Life will be held at T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, on Saturday, November 15th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
