We are very proud that Jim served as President of the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association in 1975. That pre-dates my time with the Association, but I had the pleasure of speaking with him since at annual meetings that he attended from time to time. Jim was very genuine in his unwavering support for Soil & Crop and had a natural curiosity about new projects. His smile and warm personality said it all.

I am sending you all my thoughts and prayers. Jim always made me smile whenever he played the bongos or harmonica in the music therapy group at Stirling Heights. He had such a wonderful soul and was so musical. Jim truly brought light to the world and will not be forgotten.
My dearest condolences,
Danna Da Costa

John and I are sorry to hear of Mr. Barries passing. We loved when he came back to visit the farm and how he would find a walking stick and go for a walk back to the pond. He always had a story. Our Very Deepest Sympathies Janet And John Fitzpatrick and Family

Dear Barrie Family:
Sorry to learn of Jim's passing. He and I go back many years and I always enjoyed our many conversations - usually related to agriculture and community affairs.
Although I am unable to join you for his memorial, I will be thinking of you. Jim set a wonderful example for us all to follow.

Being part of such a large family with so many Aunts , Uncles and cousins gave us many opportunities to get together . These times might include Uncle Jim playing the bagpipes and leading a long parade of nieces and nephews....or he would be playing his mouth organ while we sang. What great memories we all must have.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob, Janet and their families at this time.
