It is with broken hearts that we inform you that Jamie Marie Hedger passed away on November 16, 2025 at Innisfree Hospice in Kitchener Ontario after an 8 year battle with brain cancer, at the age of 27.
Jamie was born on April 16, 1998 in Cambridge Ontario to Craig and Robin Hedger. She loved her brother Patrick Hedger to the moon and back.
Jamie is much loved and missed by her paternal grandmother Mary Hedger and maternal grandmother Patricia Ireland, partner of Bruce Ireland. Cherished always by her Maternal Aunts Carol Adams, partner of Colin Adams; Catharine Ireland and Tracy Ireland as well as Paternal Uncle Michael Hedger.
Missed sorely by cousins Autumn Ireland; Samantha Adams, Carson Adams, Jackson Adams, Shawn Hedger and Hayden Hedger.
Preceded in death by Paternal Grandfather Kenneth Hedger (1937-2006) and Maternal Grandfather Terrence Ireland (1947-2000).
Jamie took a lot of pride in her schooling at Galt Collegiate Institute and later at Guelph University where she achieved honors in Bachelor of Arts Psychology. Immediately after graduating University Jamie started a career at Stonehenge as an addictions counselor.
Jamie has always been described as a ray of sunshine. Her love and loyalty and amazing sense of humor stayed with her right up until her final day. She loved the outdoors in all seasons. She was obsessed with Halloween and Christmas because giving was her love language. Jamie dreamed of travelling around the world and was able to see Greece, Egypt, Scotland and Ireland with her friends. From the youngest of ages Jamie loved reading and writing poetry and short stories.
She had many friends growing up who continued to love and care for her even in hospice. Autumn, Lydia, Zoe, Kasia, Sailah, Briar, Bryanna, Jordan, Jana, Alex and Ela all spent many hours entertaining Jamie and her whole family during those tough weeks. Thank You!
The family would like to thank Paramed and Benedetta her home nurse for the past year and all the PSW's, Nurses, Volunteers and Doctors at Innisfree Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Jamie in her last 2 months. We couldn't have asked for better more comforting support.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at T. Little Funeral Home on Saturday December 27, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm where light snacks and drinks will be served.
As were Jamie's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jamie’s memory to Lisaard and Innisfree Hospice of Kitchener-Cambridge.
