With heavy hearts, we share the peaceful passing of Lauren on April 24, 2026. She was surrounded by the people who loved her most, far too young at the age of 35. Over the past several years, Lauren faced breast cancer with courage and a quiet strength that never left her.
Lauren was the beloved wife of Tyler Wilcocks. They were truly best friends, and their love for one another was something everyone could see. She was an incredibly devoted mother to Greyson and Harper, and being their mom was what meant the most to her. Everything she did was for them.
She is deeply loved by her parents, Mike and Debbie Kenny, and will be lovingly remembered by her parents-in-law, Mike Wilcocks and Jeannette (Don) McEwen. She was a cherished granddaughter to Edward Sammut and Phillip Kenny, and a dear granddaughter-in-law to Marie Wilcocks.
Lauren will be remembered with love by her sisters-in-law, Stephanie Samarista and Brittney Wilcocks, and by her nieces and nephew, Izabella Kenny, Scarlett and Hunter Wilcocks. She will also be missed by her extended family and many close friends.
She is reunited with her brother, Bryan Kenny (2024), and her grandparents, Barbara Kenny and Dolores “Nana” Sammut.
Lauren had a way of bringing light into the lives of the people around her. She was always smiling, always thinking of others, and always looking for ways to make things better for those she loved. Even while facing so much in her own life, she continued to put others first right until the very end.
Being a mom was everything to Lauren. Greyson and Harper were truly the center of her world, and she poured so much love into raising them. She made everyday moments special and created lasting memories, especially around the holidays. Christmas was something she held close to her heart, and she went out of her way to make it magical for her children and family.
Lauren shared a deep love for Disney, which had been part of her life since she was young. She grew up taking yearly trips with her parents and her brother, memories that stayed with her and meant so much over the years. That love never faded. She was so happy to share it with Tyler, who loved it just as much, and together they were able to continue those traditions with their children. Disney truly was her happy place, and those trips became some of the most cherished moments for their family.
She also loved to travel and spend time together, especially during big family gatherings. Being surrounded by the people she loved most meant everything to her.
Lauren showed incredible bravery throughout her journey. Even at the very beginning, while facing her diagnosis, she brought her daughter Harper into the world at a time when life looked very different than expected.
Above all, Lauren will be remembered as a deeply loving person with a kind heart, someone who gave so much of herself to others. She was a beautiful soul who will be missed beyond words.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A private service will be held for family.
The family would like to sincerely thank the many nurses, doctors, and support staff at the Grand River Cancer Centre in Kitchener who cared for Lauren throughout her journey, as well as the family and friends who stood by them and offered support along the way.
Lauren felt strongly about supporting her community, and it was important to her that help stayed close to home. In her memory, donations to Cancer Centre WRHN-Midtown would be greatly appreciated (please indicate to cancer care in the designation field).
