

Passed away peacefully at Spruce Lodge, Stratford, on the 1st of December, 2012, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late C. Vincent Hastings who predeceased her in 2005. Marjorie was a long-time resident of Cambridge and former member of St. Andrew’s (Galt) Presbyterian Church. As a Registered Nurse, she had worked at South Waterloo(now Cambridge) Memorial Hospital and Grandview Medical Centre. Dearly loved mother of Donald Ewart who died in infancy; Jane and her husband Donald Mercer, of Spencerville, ON, Terry Hastings and his wife Lorraine, of Stratford, ON, Stephen Hastings of Cambridge, ON, Ann and her husband Stephen Donahue, of Wasaga Beach, ON. Marjorie took great joy in her grandchildren: Darren (Karren), Geoffrey, Andrea, and Destiny Mercer, Chaslyn (Brad), Leah, and Kieran Stevenson-Hastings; Brayden and Keana Hastings; Rachel, Kaitlin, Rebecca, and Emily Donahue. She was a great-grandmother of four: Aidan, Ethan, Mataya, and Ketanna. She is also survived by one sister, Eleanor Duz of Mississauga, ON, and one brother, Edward (Ruth) Humphreys, of North Saanich, BC, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family expresses their great appreciation to the staff of Spruce Lodge for their excellent and compassionate care of Mom during her life there. The family will receive friends on Tuesday December 4, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at T. Little Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 223 Main Street, Cambridge, Ontario N1R 1X2 (519)-623-1290. A Celebration of Marjorie’s Life will be held at 11 am on Wednesday December 5, 2012 at St. Andrew’s (Galt) Presbyterian Church, 130 Victoria Street, Cambridge. A Private interment will take place at Mount View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Perth County would be greatly appreciated by the family.
