

Melinda Metcalfe died unexpectedly at her residence on Sunday, September 7th 2025 in Cambridge at the age of 52. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden passing and she will be forever cherished and remembered.
Melinda was born on December 4th 1972 in Brantford, Ontario. She graduated from Athabasca University and Fanshawe College. A dedicated Professor at Conestoga College, prior Director Public Relations at Loblaws & Associate Communication Manager at Canadian Tire.
Beloved wife of Derek Matysik. Loving mother of Carson Matysik. Devoted sister of Jim Metcalfe & Jeff Wheat. Cherished Daughter of John Wheat and Lois Wheat (deceased). Caring Sister-In-Law to Kate Metcalfe & Tamara Wheat. Adored Aunt to Allie Metcalfe, Amelia and Brooklyn Wheat. Thoughtful Daughter-In-Law to Wilhelm Matysik.
Melinda played sports early on in her life. A passionate Hockey mom with the Cambridge Hawks. A dedicated Toronto Blue Jays & Toronto Maple Leafs sports fan. Her enthusiasm for the game and dedication was contagious.
Melinda’s greatest joy came from her son Carson. She always put other people first and was a tremendously compassionate and caring individual. Her time with family was always her top priority.
Friends and loved ones are invited to join Melinda’s family in celebrating her life.
A public visitation will take place on Friday, September 26th, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street. Visitation will continue from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 27th. A ceremony will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM. Following the ceremony, all are invited to join the family for a reception where food, drinks, and memories will be shared in Melinda’s honour.
Out of care and consideration for a severe fragrance allergy, we kindly ask that guests attending Melinda’s celebration of life refrain from wearing perfume or strongly scented products. Your understanding and support in helping create a safe and comfortable environment for the family is sincerely appreciated.
