Michael Sewell Boardley

BOARDLEY, Michael Sewell 1946 - 2010 At home on October 8, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Dear husband and best friend of Karen and inspirational father to Alissa (Patrick) and Samantha (Fouad). Beloved brother of Felicity (Alan) and Peter (Lesley) of England, and brother-in-law of David (Sharon) of California. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends across Canada, the States and the UK. An immigrant to Canada from England in 1970, Michael ('Mike') was a loyal and lifetime employee of Babcock and Wilcox Canada (Galt, Ontario). He retired in 2008 after more than 35 years with the company. An avid mechanic and car enthusiast outside of work, Mike could often be found fixing a Volvo or following the latest F1 Grand Prix race. When he was not tinkering with cars, Mike was working around the house, garden, boat, trailer, or cottage, building, repairing, renovating or just "checking things out". Mike was also a talented musician playing both guitar and piano and listening to all things Beatles in his spare time. Throughout his life, Mike was always surrounded by loving family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues. Many thanks go out to those same people who took this journey with us and never left our side.
