August 6, 1921 - December 20, 2014, At St. Andrew’s Terrace in Cambridge, ON. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Pamela (Blackwell); as well as by his daughter Sandra (Tony) Gocher, and sons Douglas (Nicky), and Ronald (Shannon); grandchildren Sean, Ryan, Lewis, Damien and Erinn; and great-grandchildren Mirah, Charlotte, Owen, Ryker, Camille, and Drew. Norm was born and raised in Montreal, joined the Army in 1940, and served his country in Europe during World War 2. Upon his return to Montreal in 1945, he married Pam, the love of his life; they started a family and subsequently moved to Cowansville, QU in 1951. Norm had a wry sense of humor, an amazing intellect, and while completely dedicated to his family, Norm managed to find time for the occasional round of golf and for many civic activities, including several terms as a City Alderman and a long association with Lions Club International. After a highly successful 33 year business career, Norm and Pam retired to Cambridge and enjoyed many wonderful years with the family.
In accordance with Norm’s wishes, cremation has already occurred and a celebration of Norm's life will be held in 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations on Norm's behalf to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
Norm’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of St. Andrew’s Terrace for their professionalism, kindness, and caring.
