

At Veterans Residence, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto on Monday June 6, 2011 (the 67th anniversary of D-Day) in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Gertrude (nee Melross) of 65 years. Dear father of Tony and his wife Nickie of Toronto. Dear brother of Hugh. Cherished grandfather of Scott (Teresa) and Andrew (Emilie). Born in Galt, Ontario (November 22, 1919), he proudly served in Canada in WWII with the Royal Canadian Air Force and Highland Light Infantry, and in Europe with distinction as a Combat Infantry Officer with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry 4th Brigade, Second Canadian Infantry Division. A graduate pharmacist, he had over 50 years in the pharmaceutical industry in sales, manufacturing, marketing (Dow Chemical), and retail. Bob and Gertrude enjoyed many memorable trips to Europe, Africa, and the United States during his retirement. A private service will be conducted at the T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street, Cambridge 519-623-1290 on Saturday June 11, 2011. Interment Mount View Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the personal support workers who cared for him at his home and at Sunnybrook. Very special thanks to the nurses and caring staff at Sunnybrook Veterans Residence (LGSE) for their excellent and loving care during the past 15 months.
