She married the love of her life, William “Bill” on July 21, 1951 and they raised seven children. Loving mother of Debbie McCabe (Patrick), Bruce, Glen (Kristen), Wendy (Jim), Sara Hutton (Don), and Mark (Christina). She will also be lovingly remembered by her twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, sisters Barbara Smith and Marilyn Brown, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her daughter Joni, daughter-in-laws Angie Fullerton and Merla Woodfield and sister Joyce Hummel.
Shirley was a proud mother and a wonderful friend. She was known for her kindness and generosity. She enjoyed playing euchre, ironing and baking for family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Riverbend Place for their compassionate care.
Visitation will take place at the T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Cambridge (519-623-1290) on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the Funeral Service taking place in the T. Little Chapel at 12:45 p.m. Burial will follow at Mount View Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Shirley’s memory to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by her family.
