Sidney Gorden Sutherland

Sid Sutherland August 11, 1927 – July 10, 2015. Safely home in the arms of his Lord and Saviour, surrounded by his loving family. Cherished husband to Joan for 63 years. Father to Nancy (Paul Savage), Sandy Sutherland and Janice (Joe Galvao). Special Grandpa to Megan (deceased), Laura, Kyle, Jessica and Papa to Alyssa, Amy and Alanna, and Papa GG to Logan, Sienna and Rex. Our Dad was a man of few words until he threw a quiet zinger your way. Born in Komoka Ontario he spent his married life in Preston, Cambridge. Sid was a constant and unwavering man and set godly example for us to follow. He gave of himself and served unconditionally at Temple Baptist Church in his role as usher and life deacon. His car was never stationary if somebody needed a ride, especially the grandkids. He never liked to complain even after the struggles of this year tested him, but confirmed his strength and courage. Sid enjoyed a long career in the trucking industry and later as branch manager at McKinley Transport. He was an amazing friend and neighbor. He lived a life that will be remembered always. We love and miss you Dad. The family will receive friends at Coutts Funeral Home 96 St. Andrews St. Cambridge on Monday July 13, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Temple Baptist Church, 400 Holiday Inn Drive, Cambridge on Tuesday July 14, 2015 at 11 A.M. Interment Memory Gardens Breslau. As expressions of sympathy donations to Temple Baptist Church or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
