Stan was born and raised in Rosetown, Saskatchewan and was always a Westerner at heart.
He went to University and College in Saskatoon where he earned an Engineering Diploma. Stan had a fulfilling career as an Estimator for various steel companies in Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Mississauga and Bolton, Ontario. He happily retired at 64 but continued to do consulting after that, working from home.
Stan’s passion outside of work was playing snooker with his many friends at the Canadian Legion 121, Galt Branch and watching sports. Stan always cheered on his favourite Saskatchewan Roughriders from when he followed them as a child, but also loved watching baseball, curling, ice hockey, and golf.
The first time Stan travelled outside of Canada was to England to visit Sue's family. In retirement, they were able to travel to the Caribbean, which they absolutely loved. They also loved doing day trips to many of the wonderful places Ontario has to offer.
Stan was a kind-hearted man who would do anything for anybody. He loved talking to people and had a wonderful sense of humour. He loved to tease, laugh, and tell jokes. Above all else, he will be remembered for the love he had for his family.
Stan will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years, Sue, and his wonderful son, John, of whom he was so proud. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Sarah. Stan is also survived by his sister Avrel Cross (Wayne) of Vernon, BC; his nephew, Barry Cross (Katrina) and family of Kingston; his niece, Cheryl Green (David) and family of Vernon, BC; brother-in-law, Michael Pirrie (Sharon) and family of Suffolk, England. Stan will be forever remembered by his extended family and friends.
