Beloved wife of Dr. Jay Baker, with whom she shared a beautiful life and nearly 50 years of marriage. Susan will be forever remembered by her devoted daughters, Lindsay and Kelly (Shay), and lovingly known as Nana to her cherished grandchildren: Lily, Hanna, Thomas, and Roland. Susan held a deep affection for John Gerwing, who remained like a son to her.
Susan had a heart full of joy and a laugh that could light up any room. She made everyone around her feel truly special and deeply loved. Her life was rooted in motherhood, a role she treasured above all. She was an animal lover through and through, and her pets were always an important part of the family.
A lover of music and nature, Susan found peace in canoeing and especially cherished her time in Algonquin Park. She and her family made countless memories at different cottages, with some of her most treasured summers spent in Grand Bend and along the shores of Lake Huron.
Susan will be dearly missed by the community at Hilltop Manor, where her kindness, spirit, and warmth left a lasting impression on staff and residents alike, as well as by her many dear friends.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to honour Susan’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen Street East, Waterloo. A reception will follow the service.
