We lost our beautiful and dearly loved mom, grandmother and great grandmother on October 24, 2017. Veroslava is predeceased by her husband Miloslav, parents Bohumil Tucek and Maria Klosterman, sisters Zdenka and Vlasta, brother Bohumil, nephew Igor and grandson Radek. Veroslava was born in Krakovany, in the former Czechoslovakia, and later lived in different towns where her father, a public notary, was transferred for his work. When the Second World War started the family moved to Hradec Kralove where she finished her education studying home economics and also meeting her future husband, Miloslav. They married when the war was over and had 2 children, Dusan and Dagmar Maria. In 1968 the communist regime started to crumble and when the Russian tanks came into Czechoslovakia to back up the old system, her husband decided to seek freedom and through Austria immigrated to Canada. He was later joined by daughter Dagmar but had to wait more than a year before Veroslava and son Dusan were allowed to leave the country and come to Canada as legal immigrants. Veroslava started working in the Hostess factory in Cambridge, first on assembly line and then as a quality control inspector. She made many friends wherever she went; at work, in the church and in her neighbourhood. She will be always remembered for her ever present smile and her loving, generous nature towards anyone she happened to meet. This also applied to the four legged friends; every dog that passed by her would get a pat on the head and her cat Zorinka became a legend among all the others for her special ability to open windows so she could get into the house at her leisure. Mom's gift of faith and her devotion to the Blessed Heart of Jesus became the corner stone of her life. She always lived by her principles and never gave in to complacency or excuses. She was a magician in creating beauty from very limited means and whatever she scrimped on herself she gladly gave to others, especially her children and grandchildren. Then there was that beautiful, heart warming smile and the wave of the hand in parting, seeing us off. We will never forget you, you brought us up in faith, you gave us your all and did not expect anything in return. The only thing you never learned was to take back. You are leaving behind a legacy of strength, beauty inside and out and the living example of our Christian faith and we will do our best to walk in your footsteps. We are grieving our loss but exalting in the knowledge that you have completed your earthly journey and soon will see the face of our Redeemer. Honouring your memory are your children Dusan and Mila Hanousek, Dagmar Maria and Farshad Tcharmtchi, grandchildren Radek Hanousek (deceased). Simone and George Wilson, Sarah and Dan Lewczuk and Leah and Patrick Lis. Great grandchildren Julia and Jordan Wilson and Lily and Stella Lis. Also many friends in Cambridge and Burlington church communities and relatives and friends in Germany, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Visitation will be held at the T.LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE - 223 Main Street. Cambridge, ON on Thursday, October 26 , 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Vigil Prayers to be said at 7:30pm.
