William "Bill" Wesley Mercer

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the age of 75 while enjoying one of his pastimes: watching his favourite sports on tv. Together again with his beloved wife Helen (2012). Dear brother and best friend to Lloyd (Winnie) Mercer and Marg Prange. Nephew to Lila Stagg and loving uncle to Maryrose and Mathew Ricard and great-uncle “grandpa” to Jeanette and Sebastien Ricard. Predeceased by Gerald Mercer and Beryl McGill. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, especially those at Bingo. All of those who knew Bill could say that he was a kind soul and would do anything for anyone if he could. A true sports fan - he could talk about statistics as early as a young child. This is an interest he maintained all throughout his life. While he enjoyed many different sports, hockey was always at the top of his list. His quick-wit is something he will always be remembered for. Friends and family will be received at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650) on Friday, November 27, 2105 from 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will take place the following day on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Bill’s memory.
