William Richard Kimmich

Bill was born to the parents of late Lt. William R. Kimmich and Jean (Zeiters) Kimmich on April 11, 1944 in Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by his mother (Jean Zeiters Kimmich) Leo and step father U. S. Army WWII veteran Gabriel R. Leo.

He was a 1962 graduate of William Penn High School, Harrisburg, PA He then attended Shippensburg University graduating in 1966. He was a retired high school biology teacher of 37 years at Camp Hill High School.

He was a Life Member of the Gettysburg Civil War Round Table, a long-time member of the Nature Conservancy and volunteered with many organizations in the area and an avid outdoorsman enjoying all that nature had.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Paula C. (Lupp) Kimmich, daughter, Julie Christine Kimmich Hammel and husband Scott West Hammel of Chesterfield,VA, and son, William Richard Kimmich III and wife Amber Lee Kimmich of Powhatan, VA. He is also survived by 6 granchildren, U. S. Army 2LT. Michael Hammel with wife Taylor Mansini Hammel; Army Cadet Daniel Hammel; Army Cadet Margaret Hammel; Evelyn Hammel; Wyatt Kimmich and Cole Kimmich. He is also survived by several cousins.

Graveside service will be 11:00AM, July 9, 2019 at Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill. Casual attire is appropriate.
