Ario Andreoli Sr., 91, of Camp Hill, passed away Sunday at Holy Spirit Hospital. He was born on January 27, 1920 in the village of Penne located within the Providence of Pescara in the Abruzzi Region of Italy. He immigrated to the United States in 1937 and became a naturalized citizen.
He worked construction and as a cook until he joined the army serving honorably in the Pacific during World War ll. He owned a grocery store for several years and operated a lunch truck for 42 years retiring in 1993.
He was a devoted member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Camp Hill. He was an avid gardener of flowers, vegetables, and trees. He enjoyed cooking and sharing his hospitality with friends and family, and entertaining with his concertina.
Surviving are three daughters, Rita of Camp Hill, Linda (Ernie) Fanella of Mechanicsburg, Mary Jane (William J.) Olsen of Camp Hill; two sons, Ario of Camp Hill, Ricardo (Karen) of Mechanicsburg; two grandchildren Kayla and William C.; and a sister, Sister Mary Theresa of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years Rose and two brothers Annunzio and Antonio.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM Friday, December 9, 2011 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp.
