During her childhood, her mother and grandmother taught her to be forth rite, steady and do for others as you want done to yourself. Those tasks stayed with her until her last breath.
Bonnie was educated through the Reading School District. During her school years, she met her husband Curtis L. Washington Sr. at the age of 14. He was unaware of her amazing thoughts and plans for them at that time. She then graduated from Reading High School in 1961. She attended business school in Boston, MA, receiving her business certificate. In the 80’s she taught computer processing, worked as a photographer, open a babysitting service in the home, managing children from ages 1–4 years old. She was truly a jack-of-all-trades. In the 1990’s she graduated with her Associate Degree in Medical Assistance from the Academy of Medical Arts & Business, in which she also taught several classes soon after.
As Bonnie and Curtis’s life together continued with their shared purpose God, Family and Friends. Their family grew and she withdrew from the work force to do what her mother and grandmother did for her, focused solely on raising children. Due to her husband’s many military assignments, she decided to become a foster parent and remained in that process for over 20 year. Bonnie devoted her time into instilling her life centerpiece for more than over 24 foster and adopted children, receiving numerous accolades from the city, state and federal government.
