Edward K. Reed

Edward K. Reed, 68, of New Cumberland, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He passed away at Carolyn’s House, a residence of the Hospice of Central PA. Ed (or Eddie, as he was known to family) was born in Waynesburg, PA, on October 12, 1953, to the late Samuel Ross and Elizabeth Gail (Johnson) Reed. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 40 years, Catherine “Cathy” Reed, and his brother Charles Reed. Surviving Ed are his children Jason Reed (wife Michele) and Sara Reed (husband Dan), his siblings Bonnie Fritz, Samuel Ross Reed, Jr., Jim O’Donnell, Elizabeth Shellenberger, and Thomas Reed, along with many nieces and nephews. Ed worked as a steelworker for Bethlehem Steel for over 40 years. Ed loved fishing, astronomy, the Outer Banks, good wings, but most of all, spending time with his beloved family. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
