In his youth, Gerald would spend summers on his grandfather’s farm and take up part time jobs around town. He enjoyed collecting stamps and model trains. Gerald was employed by the US Navy as a private contractor, which took him around the world to South Africa, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Hawaii. After his time with the Navy he worked as a construction super attendant for 45 years before retirement. Retirement life did not suit Gerald however, so he then went back to work where he drove the transit bus in Harrisburg for another 5 years.
