James W Carmody

James W. Carmody, 84, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 in Golden Living Center, Camp Hill. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy Leader Carmody. Loving father of Mark and Scott Carmody of Hampden Township, PA and Michael Carmody (wife Kimberly) of Olney, MD. Grandfather of Erin and Megan Carmody. Brother of the late Doris Morris, Joseph Carmody and John Carmody.

He was born September 27, 1929, in Philadelphia, to the late Joseph and Margaret (Fitzmartin) Carmody. Jim was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army Signal Corps. After his military service, he attended and graduated from La Salle University and worked for the Internal Revenue Service for the majority of his career.

Friends will be received on August 22, 2014 at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, 1 Peter Drive Mechanicsburg, PA, 17050 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be conducted at 11:00 a.m. There will be a brief luncheon immediately following the mass at the church. Burial will be at Mount Rose Cemetery, York.
