

Middletown ~ Kaye L. Leinaweaver, 78, formerly of Carlisle and Dillsburg, passed away quietly on Sunday, September 4, at the Middletown Home where she had been a resident for the past year. Born Kaye Lee Weldon in Hornell, New York on September 10, 1937, daughter of Raymond and Sadie Weldon. She was adopted by Gerald and Joyce Ford as a young girl and considered them her family. She reconnected with her birth family as an adult woman and formed lasting bonds with her biological siblings.
Kaye met the love of her life, Robert A. Leinaweaver, in 1967 and the two were married December 14, 1968. They enjoyed 33 wonderful years together before his death February 18, 2002.
Kaye worked as a Bookkeeper and Parts Clerk for Appleton Papers, Co., Inc. (now known as Appvion) retiring from there in 1992 after 20 years of service. She served her country from 1956-58 in the Air Force and was a member of Young’s United Methodist Church.
Kaye was a very social lady and loved being around friends and family. She was especially close to her “adopted” grandchildren, Benjamin Hinson, Bedford, VA and Kerri (Hinson) Sadvari, Mechanicsburg, PA as well as her niece, Rori Kuhns, Stow, OH. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and all types of crafts. Kaye will forever be known for her crocheted dolls, ceramics and quilts. She spent countless hours doting on her poodles, King, Prince and Lucky.
In addition to her adoptive and biological parents, Kaye was pre-deceased by her husband, Bob; Brothers, Albert, Benjamin, and John Weldon; Sisters, Patricia Neamon and Anna Mae Bauer. She is survived by one Brother, Robert (Beverly) Weldon, NY; Sister-in-Law, Naomi Golden, OH and Brother-in-Law, Tom Leinaweaver, IN as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St., Camp Hill, PA. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be held privately in the Veteran’s Garden of Honor beside her beloved Bob, at the Rolling Green Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kaye’s Memory to the Gifts of Love Fund, Young’s UM Church, 7075 Wertzville Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 or the Benevolence Fund at the Middletown Home, 999 West Harrisburg Pike, Middletown, PA 17057.
Kaye’s family would like to thank the wonderful staffs at the Middletown Home and Elmcroft of Dillsburg for the tender care shown to her in her final years and for making her part of their family.
