Louie, as he was affectionately known, is survived by his loving wife, Teresa (Reyes) Santos, his son Henry Santos and daughter-in-law Louella (Redding) Santos, daughter Rosy Quiniones and son-in-law Edwin "Kiki" Quinones, son Louie Santos, daughter Lola Hutchins and son-in-law Mark Hutchins, and daughter Patricia Santos. Louie had 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Louie is also survived by his brother Ralph Santos and his sister-in-law Myriam (Perez) Santos, his niece Maritza Figliozzi and spouse Andrew Figliozzi, his nephews Alexander Santos, and Julian Santos and spouse Laura Santos, and 5 great-nieces and nephews. Louie was preceded in death by his parents Luis Santos, Sr. and Teresa (Pastrana) Santos and his grandsons Isaac Santos and Jacob Zerne.
Louie lived with his family in Puerto Rico, until they moved to the states in 1953, where they resided in the Bronx, New York. After graduating Taft High School in 1956, Louie attended Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, Massachusetts. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1963 And stationed in Fort Bliss in Texas. He was a Med Corpsman in the military and while he was on leave in El Paso, Texas he would meet his love, Teresa. Which he lovingly referred to as “mi Teri“.
Louie was an active member of the Catoctin Adventist Church in Thurmont, Maryland, and served as a deacon for many years. He loved Jesus and tried to share Him with everyone he met. He regularly volunteered at the food bank in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Some of his hobbies were taking long walks in the countryside, watching boxing matches, and had an appreciation for Pitbull the rapper.
Those who knew Louie will remember him for often bringing home random strangers to share a meal and at times a place to sleep for the night. He always had a soft spot for the underdog and was a loyal friend.
The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Luis Santos, Jr. will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Harrisburg 1st Seventh Day Adventist Church at 424 Progress Ave. Harrisburg, PA 17109. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM. He will be interred at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. Reception will be at 4pm at 313 Manchester Rd, Camphill, PA 17011.
