

Marceil Alys (Nesbitt) Seckman age 96, of Lima, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025. Born on March 1, 1929, she lived a long and meaningful life dedicated to her family, her work, and her community. She was the devoted wife of Harry David Seckman, who preceded her in death three years ago after 71 years of a loving marriage. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and service.
Marceil Alys Seckman is survived by her two children, Gregory Seckman and wife Charlotte Seckman; Barbara Fidler and husband Robert Fidler; five cherished grandchildren, Zachary Fidler and wife Lacy Fidler, Elizabeth Chapman and husband Charles Chapman, Luke Fidler, Kyle Seckman, and Ryan Seckman and wife Eva Seckman; and five beloved great-grandchildren, Blake, Kylie, Julia, Marcus, and Laythan. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, kindness, and strength touched everyone around her.
Marceil Seckman graduated from Ohio State University and later attended Mount St. Mary’s College to complete a teaching degree in Home Economics. She worked as a home economist for the Penn State York County Extension where she taught women essential skills such as sewing, knitting, and cooking on a budget. Her passion for practical education and resourceful living impacted countless families. During retirement, she embraced her love of travel and enjoyed spending time socializing with dear friends. She was a volunteer for a hospital in Clearwater, Florida, and she spent every evening knitting baby hats for newborns. She also sewed teddy bears for the pediatric department. Her quick wit, gentle humor, and welcoming spirit made her a joy to be around.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on December 8, 2025, at 11:00am at Chapel Pointe, 770 S. Hanover Street, Carlisle Pennsylvania. Family and friends are invited to attend and honor her memory.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
