He was born on January 8, 1919 in East Orange NJ. He was the fifth of six brothers raised by his parents, Marco Mauriello and Maria Leva (Nerone) Mauriello, who met and married in the United States after immigrating separately from Italy.
He graduated from Newark College of Engineering in 1941 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He later obtained a Masters Degree from Stevens Institute of Technology. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi.
In 1941, he was hired by Hoffman La Roche in Nutley NJ, where he spent his entire career and successfully held a variety of management positions.
He married Doris Grace Pontier on New Year’s Eve 1947. The following year, they moved into their home in Bloomfield NJ where they lived for 60 years and raised their five children.
In 1983, after a 42-year career, he retired from Hoffman La Roche. He enjoyed a long and full retirement.
He and Doris were long-time members of Bethany United Presbyterian Church in Bloomfield NJ where he served for many years as a Trustee.
In 2007, he and Doris moved to Mechanicsburg PA where he lived until his death. Interment will be at Silver Spring Presbyterian Church where they were members since relocating to Mechanicsburg.
He was a devoted husband and father. He is loved and missed by his wife Doris and his five children: Mark Mauriello (Joan) of Waxhaw NC, Martha Arthur of Ellicott City MD, Beth Procopio of Camp Hill PA, Paul Mauriello (Marsha) of Hagerstown MD, and Ellen Stanton (David) of East Petersburg PA. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 9 step great-grandchildren.
