Nae H Park
September 10, 1941 – December 25, 2020
Nae Hong Park was born in Sangju, Korea on September 10, 1941, the first son of Byung Hwan Park and Ho Sohn. He graduated from Busok High School in 1960 and earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Kyungpook National University in 1966. He completed an internship at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, New York and surgical training programs at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh, NY and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. At St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital he completed an Ear Nose and Throat and Head and Neck Surgery Residency.
In 1975 he opened the Central Pennsylvania Ear Nose and Throat Clinic in Harrisburg. In his medical practice he treated patients from all walks of life with compassion, respect and a deep sense of service. He became locally prominent for his surgical work in treating difficult oncologic head and neck cases. Dr. Park was an active member of Otolaryngology at Pinnacle Health (formerly Polyclinic Medical Center) and the Holy Spirit Hospital before he retired in 2005. He was a lover of opera. In retirement he enjoyed playing golf, fishing in Alaska and Canada, and traveling around the world with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He leaves behind his wife Won Joo, son Michael (Stephanie), daughters Julie and Jane (Johannes), grandchildren Brennan and Christopher Park and Vera, Stella, and Leonard Kim, two brothers and one sister. He will be sorely missed.
