

Born on August 25, 1941, in Callery, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer L. Nicklas and Gwenola A. (Rearick) Nicklas. Norman was preceded in passing by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Evelyn B. Nicklas; sons, Michael, Robert, and Timothy Nicklas; siblings, grandchildren, and extended family.
Norman’s faith and devotion shaped his life’s calling. A Cedarville College graduate, he was ordained by the First Baptist Church of Evans City in 1967. Together with Evelyn, Norman served as a missionary through the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE), dedicating decades to church planting and pastoral training in Brazil. He later served as ABWE’s Director of North America before retiring in Pennsylvania, where he remained active in the life and ministry of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
He was known for his generosity of heart and spirit—always giving freely of his time, resources, and counsel to anyone in need. Norman’s humility, love for God and others, and his unwavering service impacted countless lives both abroad and at home. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, known for his steadfast faith and strong convictions.
A viewing will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1099 Highspire Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111, followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. and a time of fellowship. Entombment will take place Monday, October 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church in Norman’s honor.
