Richard (Dick) Henry Brumbach passed peacefully into the Lord’s arms February 11, 2026 after a brief illness. Dick was the patriarch of the Brumbach family. Dick was an amazing father and a great person who was loved by everyone he came in contact with. He loved performing his limericks, which he could recite perfectly, and his train whistle, which always worked better after a festive beverage. The most important things to Dick were his friends and family. He would light up in their presence, and counted all of them as his richest blessings. Dick was remarkably blessed to have lived a rich, full life of 100 years.
Dick was born June 30, 1925, at home in Reading, PA; the son of Henry and Priscilla Brumbach. He attended school in Shillington, PA for 12 years, and never missed a single day of school.
Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Jean M. Barlet, his son, Dennis (Skeet), four sisters, Jeannette Apsokardu, Dorothy Brumbach, Patricia Rapp, and Betty Townsend.

He then joined the ACORN Unit and was transferred to San Diago, California where he worked on installing rocket launchers on aircraft. He was honorably discharged in May 1946.
Richard worked for the Bell Telephone for 36 years, retiring December 15, 1983.
He enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts and helped them for over 50 years. He was an avid seashell collector, crafting beautiful pieces of art, and sharing his love of shells with others. He enjoyed cross-stitching and other crafty endeavors, and was actively sewing and gifting until his passing.
Dick enjoyed road trips with his sons, who were his pride and joy. No week was complete without visits to his favorite social establishments. He was a Member of the Elks for 37 years, a member of the Masonic Louther Manor Lodge 781 for over 42 years, numerous other Masonic bodies, a member of New Cumberland American Legion for 61 years, and a lifetime member of the VFW.
