Born October 30, 1945 to Virginia (Myers) and Robert M. Dunn. Survived by his wife of 41 years, Annette M., his son Jason T. (Heather), grandson Tyler M., a daughter Michelle Logan, and Brother Stephen (Amy). He was a graduate of Camp Hill High School where he met many of longtime friends and attended Grove City College.
Bob became interested in Insurance and that was his vehicle to create the life of the freedom he envisioned. Bob was committed. He knew the door to success was cracked open. Bob just didn’t walk through – he kicked the door down and his fairytale began. Thank you for the inspiration: John Boland, Roy Cook and Ray Marsico. R. T. Dunn Insurance was born.
Bob’s love to hunt and fish has taken him all over the world many times. Dunn’s Sport Hunting, was a huge part of his life, arranging Hunting, Fishing and Safari trips, enjoying every client and friendship along the way.
He was a great story teller. He enjoyed a good laugh, as much as making others laugh, throughout his life he left a lasting impression on those who met him. Personal gain was not success enough for Bob. He was very active in the following. Cumberland County Crime Busters, President several times Blue MT. Safari Club, Lifetime member of the Safari Club International, President several times of the West Shore Kiwanis Club, A member of the NRA, Elks Club BPO 2257, Legions of Mechanicsburg, Enola and Linglestown, Mechanicsburg Men’s Club, Mechanicsburg Sportsman Association, Enola Sportsman Club, Harrisburg Beagle Club, Susquehanna River Wetlands Trust, the Ancient Gastronomic Order of the Rattling Reptiles, and Board of Directors for his home Development.
Bob had a heart of gold and would help anyone, but that wonderful heart is what took him away from us. Very few could perceive his immense inner strength, until he overcame adversities, one after another that truly tested his will. Bob was a fighter. His love of family and friends fueled his heroic battle to the end.
To my beautiful husband, at the time your heart stopped beating, mine broke in two. In life we loved each other with a passion never to be matched. I carry your love until we’re together again. My life, heart and love belong to you always. Sleep peacefully now!
