Veronica Romayne (Shay) McMahon, of Camp Hill, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in Holy Spirit Hospital. She was born February 10, 1938 in Altoona, PA. She attended Catholic Schools and graduated in 1955 from Altoona Area High School, she attended Altoona School of Commerce and University of Indiana, Bloomington. She was employed with Bell Telephone Company, Puritan Knitting in Altoona and Puerto Rico and since 1975 was owner of Veroniques’s Antiques, Mechanicsburg. Romayne was a member of Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick, The Wednesday Club, West Shore Country Club, International Society of Appraisers, New England Appraisers Association, Camp Hill Woman’s Club, PA Historical Society, Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society and Blair County Historical Society. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening loved big band music and swing dancing and traveling the U.S. and abroad. Romayne owned and showed many white Persian cats and will be greatly missed by Jasmine her present Persian cat. Preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy V. (Shay )Haines and her first husband William M. Miller. On October 3, 1992 she married Leo McMahon at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Harrisburg. In addition to her husband, Col. Leo T. McMahon, Jr., USA Retired she is survived by a brother, Thomas J. Fornwalt of Altoona, niece, Teri Lion and many cousins in the Altoona area. Viewing will be from 6-8 PM on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at the Neill Funeral Home, 3401 market St. Camp Hill. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday October 24, 2018 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 E Trindle Rd, Camp Hill, with viewing one hour prior to mass. Interment Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Biography
